Two Peas In A Pod

Two of our senior Sanctuary residents, Shaggy and Penny, are popping in today to say hello.

Since Penny’s arrival, she has been suffering from a host of medical issues; including regaining the ability to stand and walk again. She has also begun taking on a role here at our Sanctuary caring, protecting and mommying of sorts to some of our more challenged seniors.

Shaggy is over 15-years-old, blind and has some cognitive dysfunctions. Penny has been helping Shaggy feel extra safe, and loved. She snuggles him, cleans food off his face, and often checks on him when he is not nearby.

Watching these two bond has given us time to reflect on our relationships as an organization — with our volunteers, dogs, and of course our supporters. Through your faith in us, and your most generous contributions, we have been able to save the lives of many very special dogs like Shaggy and Penny who almost didn’t get a second chance.

The future is bright for all the dogs we fight to protect, thanks to you. The unwanted dogs here in Sanctuary have been given the gift of life because of you.

Thank you for giving us the ability to do what we do.
