If you are not accustomed to baking homemade dog treats then you may be a little hesitant to start, but I promise you, this recipe is very easy to make and doesn’t take a long time to bake.
Just knowing your dog is eating preservative-free, gluten-free, healthy treats, will make you feel great and your pups will love them!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups oatmeal flour
- 3/4 cup frozen defrosted strawberries
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- preheat oven to 350º
- line baking sheet with parchment paper
- in a large bowl, mash defrosted strawberries
- add the flour to the mashed strawberries
- add coconut oil and beaten egg
- thoroughly mix until you have a little moist and sticky dough
- roll out tiny balls of dough and flatten them into bite size treats (approximately 1” round and about 1/4” thick)
- place on baking sheet spaced so they don’t touch each other (they don’t need a lot of in-between space, they won’t rise or spread)
- bake for approximately 20 minutes (oven times may vary)
- turn oven off and let treats cool in oven (this will allow them to continue to dry out)
- once completely cooled store in airtight container in fridge
