Stanley’s Struggle

We are going to preface this post by stating that any inappropriate comments will be deleted – Stanley’s life matters.

This is not a reason to toss your senior dog who gave you 12 years of undying love and loyalty out like a piece of garbage on to the street only to end up in a high kill shelter. These horrible situations are just one of the many reasons why we do what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Circling behavior in dogs can be due to a variety of medical conditions. In senior dogs, circling is often due to canine vestibular disease or canine cognitive dysfunction (a.k.a dementia or Doggie Alzheimer’s). There are medications that help and can reduce the circling and other abnormal behaviors.

Thankfully, Stanley is safe and is already scheduled to see our Veterinary team; he will receive the medical care he needs and deserves in order to live out his golden years to the fullest.

In the meantime, Stanley slept very well last night, has a healthy appetite, and is already beginning to figure out his new environment. This smart boy has already learned where the water bowls are all on his own!

Quality of life above all else is important to us, and with your help, we will make sure Stanley has the best of everything.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.
