There was just something about Francesca that made your heart melt, and there is not a dry eye here in our Sanctuary.
It is a very somber morning here at Paws Give Me Purpose as we had to help our beautiful Francesca cross over the Rainbow Bridge last night. It was not something we expected and it never gets easier, but her quality of life quickly deteriorated over the last couple of days. This is one of those gut wrenching decisions that we sometimes have to make, but also a loving kindness that Francesca deserved.
Francesca arrived at our Sanctuary back in June of 2020, at that time she was in pretty rough shape. With the help of our Veterinary team she bounced back to life and had a fabulous time here – she even celebrated her Sweet 16 here, we threw her a big bash and she loved every minute of it.
We’d like to think that her last year and half of joy here with us was able to wash away her past suffering. She was spoiled, and loved deeply just as she should have been.
She would light up the room with simply being there, savoring everything – food, treats, toys and loved being pampered. Her most favorite, cupcakes; and the joy on her face when she ate one was just something special. She wasn’t fond of having her nails trimmed, but she tolerated it.
She left this world just shy of her 17th Birthday, and she is greatly missed by both the humans and dogs alike. Several of the male pups here were literally in love with her, and just simply wanted to be near her – in the same room with her, following her wherever she went. Most of all, little Candy, is missing Francesca who looked after her as if she were her own puppy.
There are just so many memories and so many happy stories we could tell… there was just something about Francesca. She left this world with dignity knowing love and kindness.
You will always live on in our hearts Francesca; you were taken way too soon. We were blessed to have known and been able to love you with our whole hearts!
Thank you to all of our followers and supporters for caring and for being a support to us during this difficult time.
