Meet Chester

Life with hospice dogs can be exhausting, inspiring, and busy beyond belief – it is imperfectly perfect. We wouldn’t have it any other way, but we cannot continue to help those in need without YOU!

Chester arrived at our Sanctuary in bad condition, he has masses, and one of them is the size of a baseball. He cannot urinate properly because the mass ubstructs his penis, and he also cannot seem to defecate comfortably.

Mistreating and neglecting your dog to this point and then tossing them out on the street like trash is completely unacceptable and we are doing our best to pick up the pieces of yet another shattered senior heart.

Chester’s blood work looks pretty good, and his heart is strong. We have been working diligently to get him healthy enough to undergo a major and necessary surgery.

Yes, Chester has cancer, but hospice is not about giving up; it’s about focusing on his comfort and giving him the best quality of life. Quality of life is very important to us here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Tomorrow, Chester will undergo surgery. This is a very complicated surgery and of course we are extremely worried. We also know that we have the best, most experienced surgeon handling the case. This surgery has been on the calendar for a while, and we honestly weren’t sure if it was going to happen. Thankfully, we have been able to get Chester to the point where this surgery is now medically possible.

This is not by any means a surgery that will cure him, but it will make him more comfortable and give him the best quality of life for as long as he is with us. The largest mass will be sent out for biopsy so we can identify exactly what we are dealing with as well.

Chester needs our help, we cannot let him down, we cannot do this without you!

PLEASE make a donation to help give Chester the best chance to survive so he can enjoy his remaining years to the fullest.
