Leafy greens are known for having lots of wonderful health benefits for your pup! Frozen treats are a perfect way to add some greens to your dog’s diet.
Spinach – Helps maintain good bone health, growth and may help prevent some types of cancer. Spinach is full antioxidants, iron and vitamin K.
Pears – Pears are full of copper, vitamin K, vitamin C and are loaded with fiber. Just make sure to dispose of the seeds before serving.
Celery – Celery helps promote a healthy heart and fight some cancers. It is full of vitamins A, B, C, and helps freshen bad doggie breath!
Ginger – Ginger is known as an anti-inflammatory, so it may help with arthritis. Studies have shown that it may also be helpful in fighting cancer and treating heart-worm.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups peeled and chopped pear (be sure to dispose of seeds)
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
Instructions:
- clean and chop all your fruit and veggies
- place spinach and water into blender
- blend until all leafy bits are gone
- add in all your fruit and vegetables
- blend together for about 1 minute or until smooth
- pour mixture into silicone mold of your choice or you can use an ice-cube tray
- freeze approximately 3 hours or overnight until firm
