This recipe is a delicious tail wagging treat that will have your pups “all shook up!”
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 egg
- ¾ cup mashed bananas (approximately 1 ½ bananas)
- ½ cup natural creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ¾ – 1 cup of milk
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- ¾ cup crushed dehydrated bananas (reserve ¼ cup for the tops)
- ½ cup of bacon bits
- 2 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1 cup oatmeal flour
- ¼ cup oatmeal
Instructions:
- preheat oven to 350
- use mixer or you can do this by hand
- whisk together or mix on low all the wet ingredients: milk, peanut butter, egg, olive oil, bananas until smooth and well combined
- add in the flours, oatmeal and baking powder
- mix on low or by hand until you have a nice cookie dough (if dough seems too dry add a little more milk, if it seems too sticky add a little more flour)
- fold into dough the crushed dehydrated bananas and bacon bits (reserving some of each for the topping)
- roll out dough on lightly floured surface to approximately ¼” thickness and cut out desired shapes
- place on cookie sheet, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with crushed bananas and bacon bits (lightly press toppings into the treats)
- bake for approximately 30 minutes, oven times may vary (you want the treats to become golden brown and crunchy)
- remove from oven, allow to cool
- store in an airtight containers or ziplock bags in your fridge or freeze them for up to 3 months and take them out as you need them
