Anyone with a dog knows that getting them to swallow pills is sometimes no easy task. Here is a great, short, sweet, and simple recipe for homemade pill pockets.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup natural crunchy peanut butter (crunchy peanut butter works best, it’s more difficult for your dog to detect the pill hiding in the pocket)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
Instructions:
- combine all ingredients, mix well
- roll in to balls (the size will depend on the size of the pill that you need to hide in it)
- form pocket
- place in fridge or freezer until ready to use
Helpful Hints:
* If your dog is allergic to wheat, use any kind of other flour you want.
* If your dog is allergic to dairy, use water instead of milk
* Store in the fridge a week or two, or in freezer for longer.
