Welcome Faith

Today, the Paws Give Me Purpose Team officially welcomed little Faith into Sanctuary!

Her life mattered and without a doubt, she deserved this second chance. Many thank yous to all those involved in making this precious senior soul’s life better.

Thank you to our PGMP Texas mother-daughter team, Megan and Kathy, for loving, caring for and taking Faith to all her Vet appointments in order to get her healthy enough to make her way here to us.

Thank you to the wonderful medical team at the Palestine Veterinary Hospital for giving our girl the best care possible – we never settle for anything else.

Thank you to SWATT and our Flight Angel Tracy for transporting our girl in your loving arms safely all the way from Dallas.

Thank you to our very own local transport volunteer Julie for picking little Faith up from Philadelphia airport and bringing her right to our Sanctuary doors in New Jersey.

Last, but certainly not least, thanks to all of YOU! Faith’s rescue and arrival to Sanctuary would have never been possible without your generous support!

Finn’s Fun in the Bath: A Cute Tuesday Moment

Rub-dub-dub, little Finn is popping in from the tub to wish you all a terrific Tuesday and show off just how cute he looks in these bubbles.

Believe it or not, this little man finds great pleasure in warm baths; so much so he literally asks to go in, and we of course indulge him.

For Finn, every day is a new beginning. Since  his arrival, he has given every day a chance to become the most beautiful in his life –  he recommends we all do the same!

In Memory Of Dice

There are those moments in Sanctuary when you doubt what you do simply because others don’t believe these lives matter as much as others.

There are moments in Sanctuary when you feel like closing your doors due to the lack of public support and understanding about what it is you specifically do. Sometimes we personally go without so a dog can have a second chance at life, no matter how long or short that life may be.

After being surrendered at the age of 18 to a shelter for being “too old”, Dice gained his angel wings here in Sanctuary after just 20 days. That equals 0.05 years, 480 hours, 28,800 minutes or 1,728,000 seconds. No matter how you add it up, for Dice it was clearly a lifetime of love.

Not only is quality of life important here at Paws Give Me Purpose, quality of death matters too. When the shelter reached out with a request for Sanctuary the answer was immediately a yes – we were not going to allow this precious senior soul’s life to end in a shelter simply because of his age.

During his brief stay with us here in Sanctuary, Dice received some much needed medical care, enjoyed warm meals, cozy beds, cuddling with friends and taking turns on every human lap that was around. He was a sweetheart of a dog that deserved so much better than what he received from those who promised to love him forever.

The fact that we are all born to die is something we can not change, but we do have a choice for these animals and how they die. Dice left this world peacefully in his sleep with dignity, knowing kindness and with someone beside him that was not afraid to give him what he needed even though it breaks our hearts in the process.

Sometimes, Paws Give Me Purpose is that special place where dogs come to cross that bridge with dignity and love…

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.
