Hi everyone, it’s me, Angel!
I’m just popping in to let you know how I’m doing.
What do you think, am I looking better?
I love all the people here at Paws Give Me Purpose.
They are taking very good care of me.
I am slowly making new doggie friends.
I have finished taking all my medications, but the people here have me take supplements every day to help keep me strong and healthy. I take them every day, even though some of them taste yucky.
My pneumonia is all gone now so I can enjoy time playing with the other tiny Sanctuary residents.
I pretty much love everyone here, but there is one other Chihuahua that doesn’t seem to approve. I need to try and win her over; do you think it’s possible?
I’m still very fragile and not very active, but when I am feeling up to it, I love to run around the grass and play.
I eat several small meals a day, and really LOVE all the homemade food and treats. I do however prefer to be hand fed, bowls are not my thing.
Being 14 years old, I have many senior issues along with issues stemming from my over-breeding and neglect; I am even to fragile to spay, so I will be living my life out here at Paws Give Me Purpose.
I am told that I am beautiful and loved every minute of the day.
And that everything will be ok.
For the first time in my life I am really starting to feel safe and loved. I hope this feeling lasts forever.
My body, soul and heart are healing.
Paws Give Me Purpose says they will never give up on me.
But I still need your prayers, love and support too.
Please don’t forget me and all the other sanctuary pups here.
We are nothing without all of YOU!
Love, Angel

Breathing Life Into Their Future
Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. is a home-based Sanctuary located in Southern New Jersey for dogs that deserve a second chance at life – especially seniors, those with physical disabilities, terminal illness, behavioral issues or have been abused and need someone to care for, love, and someone to finally understand them.
Our dogs live in a home setting and most are permanent residents. On occasion there are/have been dogs that can be rehabilitated and move on to forever homes, but most are here to just live out their days in Sanctuary sleeping, cuddling and hanging out with their friends.
We are desperately attempting to keep our Sanctuary alive. We cannot take in any more dogs until outstanding vet bills are paid off and we rebuild our medical fund account.
We are heartbroken over this decision, but the reality is our expenses greatly out weigh the donations we receive.
We need your support to continue to provide our Sanctuary residents with lifetime care. All donations go directly towards the care of the Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary residents. Unlike other rescues, directors and board members never have and never will take a salary.
We need your help, and we need it now!

Fourteen And Fabulous
Angel was pulled from a high kill shelter and brought to Paws Give Me Purpose this past June. Her owner of 14 years had requested to have her euthanized.
Angel was clearly neglected, a walking bunch of bones, with overgrown nails, urine stained feet, no teeth, could barely walk, and she was suffering from pneumonia. It was very obvious she had been used for breeding and most recently we discovered she may have been debarked as well. This little girl does not even know how to play with toys – we can only imagine what her life must have been like.
The shelter staff saw a light of life in her eyes and there was no way they were going to follow through on the euthanasia request.
Angel has received much needed medical care, has put on some weight by eating healthy homemade dog foods/treats, takes supplements and receives tons of TLC on a daily basis.
Angel is a fighter and we never gave up on her! We too have seen that special light in her eyes, and a clear will to live and enjoy her golden years to the fullest.
Angel has overcome great obstacles and today she is healthy, 14 and feeling fabulous! Please help us to help other dogs like Angel. There are many just like her that deserve a second chance at life, and we cannot do this without YOU!
