Meet Chai

After she was found alone wandering the streets, this precious soul found herself sitting in fear behind shelter walls. She waited and waited for her family to come and find her – it never happened.

Chai entered our Sanctuary doors back in September; we simply could not ignore the shelters plea for help. She is estimated to be 15+ years of age and presents with a host of medical issues due to extreme neglect.

She certainly did not deserve to be mistreated/neglected and then tossed out on the street like trash! This behavior is completely unacceptable and we are doing our best to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart and give her the best days of her life – unconditionally.

Chai has received the urgent medical care she needed and deserves. She will continue to receive only the best care, has shown us her strength, resilience, and desire for this second chance at life – and with your help we will make it happen!

Our mailbox and voicemail are full, the requests from shelters and rescues for Sanctuary spots are nonstop. It is heartbreaking work and we work 24/7 to make sure these deserving souls receive the second chance they deserve for no matter how long they are with us.

Without YOU we cannot continue to help dogs like Chai who suffer at the hands of careless, heartless people who treat them like objects that can be simply discarded when they are done with them – so please give.

Chester Pupdate

Little Chester is popping in to say hello and give you all with quick pupdate on how he’s doing.

Chester’s sutures have been removed! His body is healing well and he can now urinate and 💩 like a champ. He is definitely more comfortable and able to just be himself and enjoy this second chance at life.

That good news said, the biopsy results were unfortunately bad news; Chester’s tumor came back as an aggressive Seminoma – testicular cancer. Because it was so large and so close to his penis it had to be removed in 2 pieces, therefore margins were not the best.

We will be starting Chester on some homeopathic remedies and supplements and keep a close eye for any signs of tumor regrowth.

If Chester had been neutered when he was young this would not have happened and if the tumor had not been allowed to grow for years, margins would surely have been better and he would have not suffered for so long in unnecessary pain and discomfort.

But this is why Chester is here with us and will receive only the best care; we never settle for substandard care.

Our promise to Chester is to provide a safe and loving environment for the rest of his life for however long he is with us.

With all of YOU by our side we will make it happen! Thank you for giving us the ability to do what we do.

Roxie Update

We have many updates to share, so today we would like to address all the comments and messages inquiring about little Roxie.

First, we would like to thank you all for your outpouring of love and support for our fragile girl – we could never do any of what we do without YOU!

Roxie is continuing to receive medicated baths every other day. She is currently receiving supportive care; fluids twice a day, B12, and nutritional supplements. She has received a Convenia antibiotic injection to help heal her destroyed skin. Eye medications have helped to reduce the swelling in her eyes, one eye does have an ulcer and we are of course treating that as well.

We are offering a few small meals throughout the day but she does not have much of an appetite yet. It is our hope that once she feels better physically she will eat more.

All that said, Roxie does spend most of her time resting, has made some doggie friends that she enjoys cuddling with, and is showing us her strength, resilience and how much she wants to live this second chance at life. Together with your help, we are working hard to make it happen.

Our promise to Roxie is to provide her with a safe and loving environment for the rest of her life, for no matter how long she is with us.
