You Make Change Happen

For Angel and others like her, Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary is home; a place where they can take all the time they need to heal, learn that not all humans are unkind, and what it’s truly like to be loved.

Paws Give Me Purpose can’t help any more dogs without your support, help us raise awareness and funds by giving today!

We believe that all dogs deserve a second chance at life – especially seniors, those with physical disabilities, terminal illness, behavioral issues or have been abused and need someone to care for, love, and understand them.

Sometimes dogs come to us so ill or emotionally damaged that re-homing them is not in their best interest. We offer Sanctuary and lots of love for these dogs for the rest of their lives, but we cannot do this without YOU!

Our promise to these beautiful souls is to provide a safe and loving environment for the rest of their lives. We need your support to continue to provide them with lifetime care.

Asking for money isn’t easy for anyone to do, but we will not be able to help any more dogs in need without your support. We are limited on both space and funding, and the dogs that are already here in sanctuary need you.

We are a recognized 501(c)(3) Non Profit Organization that exists solely on donations and relies primarily on fundraising to help dogs in need. We are on a mission to change the world one dog at a time. Please join us and help save lives!

100% of all donations go directly towards the care of the Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary residents. Unlike other rescues, directors and board members never have and never will take a salary.

When you donate to Paws Give Me Purpose, you can save a dog’s life. When you give monthly, you can save lives all year long.

All donations are tax-deductible.

Give Me A Chance

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WILLING TO GIVE ME A CHANCE?

Hi, it’s me Houston, and I am feeling a bit sad today and just want to lay here and cuddle my new toys. I still haven’t found my forever home; I sometimes wonder…am I not worth loving?

The people here at Paws Give Me Purpose tell me I’m adorable, and I’m really glad that they were able to take me in, and give me the help I need in order to become better at just being a dog. I just need to learn that no one or thing wants to hurt me, then I trust. It’s frightening to think what would have happened to me if Paws Give Me Purpose didn’t open their doors to help me; they did not want to see me end up in a shelter. I hear those are scary places and I don’t think I would have had a chance at life if I ended up there.

For those of you not familiar with my story, I got my name when I was rescued from Houston, Texas during Hurricane Harvey by Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc almost 2 years ago. I was so adorable that I was adopted quickly. Sadly, over the last couple years in what I thought was my forever home, I began behaving badly and my family didn’t want me anymore.

I am 2 years old and think I am a Chihuahua Lab Mix. I weigh about 25 pounds, am completely housebroken, and know all my basic commands. I love belly rubs and really enjoy a good massage. I do suffer from some fear based anxiety because it seems I never learned to really trust you humans. I am people selective, but can easily be won over, and enjoy cuddling up to the people I feel comfortable with.

I love walks, but am a bit reactive to people and their dogs I may see along the way. I also try to chase all the squirrels and bunnies in the neighborhood, but whoever walks me knows how to redirect me in these situations.

I also love the Edible Nylabone Sweet Potato bones and love all the homemade meals and treats they make here at Paws Give Me Purpose. I am a bit picky with which meals I am in the mood for, I’m thinking it would be nice to have a menu to order from.

The staff and volunteers here at Paws Give Me Purpose consider me a sensitive dog. They do not feel that anyone should have ever labeled me “aggressive”. Maybe it was because I lived with children in my former home, and didn’t really seem to like them; I acted out badly toward them. I’m thinking they never really understood me and I was just afraid of them.

I am just a  little boy who just needs some guidance; I really do not require Sanctuary. I have been told that I will make a wonderful companion in the right home, and I agree, so I am searching for a best friend, for the real love of my life. A quiet home, with just a mommy and daddy; not a lot of people traffic going in and out. I just want to be around my people and have them devote their time to me. I could possibly live with one other doggie sibling my own size at the most; big dogs frighten me and too many dogs overwhelm me.

For those of you who have been following my story, you know that I have been through so much trauma and change in my young life that I really just want a home with a mommy and daddy that will understand me, love me and cherish me forever. I am really very sweet and affectionate once I get to know you, and love climbing into a lap and getting spoiled.

If you want to be my mommy and daddy, I promise to love you forever! I’m a really good boy, won’t someone please give me a chance; I guarantee you will fall in love when you meet me!

Since Paws Give Me Purpose is a Sanctuary, and normally do not handle adoptions, applications to adopt me will be processed by Yorkie911 Rescue.

Looking For Love

EXCUSE ME, I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WOULD BE MY MOMMY OR DADDY?

Hi everyone, it’s me Houston. This is how I spent my Valentine’s weekend; in the arms of a loving volunteer. How about you? I hope everyone out there was feeling the love; I sure did, but I really wish I had my very own mommy and daddy to share it with.

For those of you who don’t know me, I got my name when I was rescued from Houston, Texas during Hurricane Harvey by Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc almost 2 years ago. Paws Give Me Purpose tells me that my story touched their hearts so deeply, that they could not say no to helping me – they did not want to see me end up in a shelter. Honestly, I hear those are scary places and I don’t think I would have had a chance at life if I ended up there.
