Fabulous Francesca

Fabulous Francesca really loves spending time snuggling up in this giant, cozy bed especially on those chilly days when she prefers to stay indoors.

At almost 16 years old, Francesca is one of the sweetest, most beautiful girls both inside and out. We find it very hard to understand why someone decided to toss her away like yesterday’s newspaper.

For those not familiar with Francesca’s background, you can read all about her at the following link:

There is nothing in the world like watching Francesca blossom here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary and enjoying the life she really deserves. All dogs are beautiful, but senior dogs like Francesca have a way of touching our hearts in a way that changes everything.

We are making sure that Francesca will enjoy her golden years to the fullest and will be as spoiled and loved as she should be.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose Inc.

Francesca will be celebrating her sweet 16 at the end of this month and she would love nothing more than to have a sponsor of her very own! If anyone is interested in sponsoring Francesca’s lifetime care in Sanctuary, please reach out to us directly.

Sponsor Delicious Snickers

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose, every day is a new beginning. For Snickers and many other special needs seniors, we are that special place where they can take a deep breath knowing they are safe, smile, and start again.

For those not familiar with his story, Snickers was abandoned at the same shelter TWICE by humans he had considered his forever family. While we do not know the exact reasons stated for his surrender, it doesn’t make his story any less heartbreaking. The second surrender almost cost Snickers his life!

One of our devoted volunteers happened to be at the shelter picking up another pup in need when they noticed this sweet boy and were told he had just 2 hours left to live. She quickly sent us a text, and our hearts immediately said yes.

Most recently, Snickers had been struggling with the loss of his doggie girlfriend, Betty Boop, and finds himself a little more lost now without his doggie friend Victor.

Although Victor was highly dog selective, Snickers was one of his good friends here at the Sanctuary, and Snickers is missing him very much; so much so that he has been sleeping in Victor’s bed, snuggling Victor’s blankets and toys.

People who believe that dogs don’t grieve really have it wrong. Dogs may not necessarily know that another dog in their life has died, but they do know that the other dog is missing. In general, grieving dogs who have recently lost a close doggie friend may lose their spark and suddenly seem less perky, attentive, and active, and that has been the case with Snickers.

We are doing everything possible to help Snickers through this difficult time by giving him all the extra activity, love and attention he needs and he is feeling a little better every day as he helps us to feel better too.

Our promise to Snickers is to continue to give him his best life daily with unconditional love for the rest of his life! If anyone ever doubts us, know that this is what we do at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Snickers is still hoping to find his very own lifetime sponsor, could it be you? If you are interested in signing up to be Snicker’s sponsor please reach out to us directly.

Tito Update

Yesterday Tito went in for multiple surgical procedures; he was neutered and an exploratory dental was performed. He is now back at Paws Give Me Purpose resting and recovering.

Tito’s neuter thankfully went well, and his blood work looks good for a pup his age with no concerns. His dental procedure however, was not so simple. As it turns out this fragile neglected little boy has some major issues going on in his mouth – it’s no wonder he would paw at his mouth and had such a difficult time eating.

A total of 17 teeth needed to be extracted; they are extremely rotted, infecting his gums, and are surely a cause of pain for him for far too long.

Due to the amount of time needed to perform this procedure, the safety factor of being under anesthesia for too long, 7 teeth were extracted yesterday, and the other 10 will have to be removed in about another 2-3 months.

Tito’s body temperature dropped a bit too low during yesterday’s procedure and the Veterinary team wanted to be sure that he was not in any danger so in this case, less was the best decision for our boy.

We can tell you that Tito is not happy with any of us right now, and has expressed his feeling by growling at us, but he is resting comfortably and we are pampering him with what he will allow at this time. We truly feel his pain and understand his displeasure with us.

While Tito’s history is a mystery due to being found as a stray, his condition reveals that until his arrival at Paws Give Me Purpose, his life was surely a difficult one. It is obvious that he has never known a human touch, kindness, or what real love is and it’s time we changed that!

Please continue to send healing prayers Tito’s way. With you by our side, we can give Tito, and many more unwanted souls, a fighting chance to have the opportunity to live out their lives to the fullest.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.
