A Simple Hello

Hi, it’s me Houston. I have some news to share with all of you…

Although I am not entirely sure what it means, everyone here at Paws Give Me Purpose seems very excited. I have been told that I am going to have something called a meet and greet.

I have also been told if all goes well with this meet and greet thing, I will have a forever home…is that true? Someone filled out something called an application and wants to meet me.

I’m a little nervous about this, you see, I’m a bit people selective; but the staff and volunteers here say they will help me with that. I am going to try really hard to be on my best behavior, and I hope the people coming to meet me give me all the time I need to get to know them.

I’m not sure what all this means, and it sounds a little scary. I would really love to have my very own mommy and or daddy who will love me forever; I promise to love them forever right back.

I’m not sure what I am supposed to do to get ready. What do you think, should I get dressed up? Which look do you think I should go with?

Send some good luck wishes my way, I could really use all the positive vibes possible!

Just Give Me A Chance

IF YOU JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE, IT WILL BE ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS YOU EVER MADE!

Meet Houston! Houston was rescued from Houston, Texas during Hurricane Harvey by Yorkie911 Rescue Inc almost 2 years ago. Being such an adorable, young pup there was no doubt he would be adopted quickly, and he was. Unfortunately over the last couple years while in his home, Houston began exhibiting behavior issues and the family decided to return him to the rescue.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the complaints, the rescue was not able to accommodate Houston with an appropriate foster environment to assess the situation and turned to us for help. His story touched our hearts so deeply, that we could not say no to helping this frightened little boy.

Houston is about 2 years old, believed to be a Chihuahua Lab Mix, and weighs about 25 pounds. He is completely housebroken, crate trained and knows his basic commands plus. He loves walks, belly rubs, enjoys a good massage, and climbing into a lap to cuddle up to his people.

Houston is what we consider a sensitive dog here at Paws Give Me Purpose, and does not require Sanctuary. He is a highly adoptable dog, and his behaviors are very manageable. We are recommending a quiet adult only home with a couple something like a 55 and older couple or those with children who are in college and have the time to devote to him. Savvy dog experienced individuals who will be patient and give him the time he needs to decompress, learn to trust, and adjust to his new environment without overwhelming him. Houston warms up quickly and really just wants to be a lap dog and receive all your love and attention possible.

As for other dogs, we recommend either he be the only dog in a home, or a home with one other laid back dog around Houston’s size at most – he gets too overwhelmed otherwise.

We know that Houston’s future is bright, and in the right home environment he will excel. We are hoping and praying that he doesn’t have to wait much longer before someone will open their heart and home to a wonderful dog like him. We guarantee you will fall in love when you meet him!

Since we are a Sanctuary, and normally do not handle adoptions, applications for Houston will be processed by Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc. To fill out an application for Houston, please head over to: https://www.yorkie911rescue.com/forms/form?formid=1626

If you are not in the position to adopt please share Houston so we can find him a forever home!

Looking For Mommy And Daddy

DOESN’T ANYONE OUT THERE
WANT TO BE MY MOMMY AND DADDY?

Hi! It’s Houston again…I can’t understand why I’m still waiting! Am I not cute enough? Is it because I don’t like children? Because I require some medications? Or is it because I need time to learn to trust? Maybe everyone thinks “someone else will take me?” Maybe because I’m not on death row? Maybe people believe I’m “safe ” with the luxury of time… I can’t think of anything else, but I really want my own mommy and daddy.

I am a special boy you see, I got my name when I was rescued from Houston, Texas during Hurricane Harvey by Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc almost 2 years ago. I was so adorable that I was adopted quickly. Sadly, over the last couple years in what I thought was my forever home, I began behaving badly and my family didn’t want me anymore.

I am 2 years old and they think I am a Chihuahua Lab Mix. I weigh about 25 pounds, am completely housebroken, crate trained, and know all my basic commands. I love belly rubs and really enjoy a good massage. I do have some fears, because it seems I never really learned to really trust you humans, but I am slowly learning and getting a little better at just being a dog.

I love walks, but am a bit reactive to people and their dogs I may see along the way. I also try to chase all the squirrels and bunnies in the neighborhood, but whoever walks me knows how to redirect me in these situations; it’s really not difficult to do.

I really like it here at Paws Give Me Purpose, but I really would love to have my very own forever family. I am just a little boy that needs some guidance and structure; I do not require Sanctuary. I have been told that I will make a wonderful companion in the right home, and I agree, so I am searching for a best friend, the real love of my life.

I prefer a calm environment and just want to be around my people and have them devote their time to me. I could possibly live with one other doggie sibling my own size at the most; big dogs frighten me and too many dogs really overwhelm me.

I really just want a home with a mommy and/or daddy that will love me unconditionally, understand me, and cherish me forever. I am really very sweet and affectionate once I get to know you, and I warm up very quickly; I just love climbing into a lap and getting spoiled.

Please, would you be my mommy or daddy? I promise to love you forever! I’m a really good boy, and I guarantee you will fall in love when you meet me!

Since Paws Give Me Purpose is a Sanctuary, and normally do not handle adoptions, applications to adopt me will be processed by Yorkie911 Rescue.
