Sponsor Autumn

Good morning from Autumn, one of our newest tiny residents. Autumn is making big strides here at the Sanctuary! Autumn arrived from the shelter fearful of people, and is never far from her sister Winters side.

Her favorite thing right now is to bark for Sanctuary mom to fill her bowl with some pup loaf – the look on her face is just so precious there’s no denying her.

Despite years of neglect, Autumn has not allowed her past to define her. She is beginning to thrive, has shown us her incredible strength, resilience and with ongoing care to help her heal, her sweet and sassy spirit are beginning to shine too.

While Autumn may be small, she is mighty, reminding us just how very special she is – and we just adore her to pieces!

Please consider becoming Autumn’s sponsor, your love and kindness ensures that we are able to provide her with the best care possible and continue to rescue others in need.

Fearless Foxy

As much as we hate sharing heartbreaking news, we wanted to inform you with the deepest sadness that our precious Foxy has gained her Angel wings.

She passed peacefully in her sleep, by Sanctuary mom’s side, knowing nothing but kindness, compassion, love and dignity. We are completely shattered, and know you all share this devastating loss with us.

How is it possible that the tiniest being can take up such a huge space in one’s heart? She captured hearts from around the globe and now we’re sure she’s got all of Heaven wrapped around her little furry paws.

Foxy was a very special soul who joined our Sanctuary family in February of 2024; although her prognosis was grim, her strong will to live along with her vibrant and outgoing personality are what we attribute to her outliving her life expectancy.

The moment she entered our doors we were brought to tears by the site of her abysmal condition. She was completely blind, estimated to be 15+ years of age, and was abandoned on the streets of NYC to fend for herself in the bitter cold. She was filthy and matted in the most disgusting way, the odor unbearable. Her legs were crusted up in so much feces they were rock solid like little cast boots.

This precious soul clearly lived in her own excrement for a long time. Underneath, her legs were bleeding and infected. Once we soaked and shaved down her matted fur, we found 2 enormous masses; we had no idea how this tiny soul could carry the weight of these masses. We could only imagine her fear and discomfort.

We were terrified, but strongly believed her life mattered and that she was worth giving a fighting chance – and boy did she fight! She pulled through and enjoyed every moment of her second chance at life to the fullest.

During the nine months Foxy lived here in Sanctuary she crammed in a lifetime of love and activity. Although she was blind, she wanted to try everything! From agility tunnels to seesaws, she was fearless. She would race around the playroom like the energizer bunny, leading her pack of friends. They all seemed to admire Foxy and would follow her lead. Every moment of every day she put her best paw forward and was raring to go.

She was a big food connoisseur, and LOVED to eat earning her the title of Foxy Food Monster; she never left a crumb behind. She of course enjoyed human company and was always in someone’s arms or on their lap. She would get so extra excited when her sponsor would come for a visit. Once she’d hear her sponsor’s voice in the building, she’d literally try to jump and run out of Sanctuary mom’s arms to find her.

Every moment of every day she was with us she enjoyed life. And every time she seemed tired to us we thought it must be time, but she surprised us time and time again by having a restful sleep, recharged herself and was raring to go for another day. You could literally see how much she never wanted to let go, she didn’t want to leave us and we literally could see that.

Every dog that walks through our doors has something special, they come here and it’s as if they have been waiting to come here to blossom, let go, be themselves, and enjoy the dog life they should have had all along. We see it all the time, yet, Foxy had that extra special something that even captured the hearts of other dogs here and not just us humans. Foxy came here with her own purpose and she most certainly fulfilled it.

We could write forever about this precious girl because there are so many special moments to share. This tiny beautiful little soul has left behind a massive hole in many hearts – words are just not enough.

It is our hope that Foxy knows how very much she was loved, adored and that if love could have saved her, she would have lived forever. Nothing will ever be the same here at Paws Give Me Purpose without her – there’s just that strange feeling every day that something’s missing.

You will always live on in our hearts Foxy – you were taken way too soon. We were blessed to have known and been able to love you with our whole hearts!

We would like to acknowledge Foxy’s generous sponsor for assisting us with her care and helping give us the ability to provide her with everything she needed and then some. Thank you also for taking the time to visit, assist in hands-on care and spend quality time loving her. On behalf of Foxy, we thank you from the bottom of her little heart and ours. It is supporters like yourselves that are the driving force behind what we do.

Thank you to each and everyone of our followers and supporters for caring, for being a support to us and for being a part of the best days of Foxy’s life!

Welcome Faith

Today, the Paws Give Me Purpose Team officially welcomed little Faith into Sanctuary!

Her life mattered and without a doubt, she deserved this second chance. Many thank yous to all those involved in making this precious senior soul’s life better.

Thank you to our PGMP Texas mother-daughter team, Megan and Kathy, for loving, caring for and taking Faith to all her Vet appointments in order to get her healthy enough to make her way here to us.

Thank you to the wonderful medical team at the Palestine Veterinary Hospital for giving our girl the best care possible – we never settle for anything else.

Thank you to SWATT and our Flight Angel Tracy for transporting our girl in your loving arms safely all the way from Dallas.

Thank you to our very own local transport volunteer Julie for picking little Faith up from Philadelphia airport and bringing her right to our Sanctuary doors in New Jersey.

Last, but certainly not least, thanks to all of YOU! Faith’s rescue and arrival to Sanctuary would have never been possible without your generous support!
