Yesterday was a very long, busy, and stressful day for all of us here at Paws Give Me Purpose, but we did not want another day to pass without updating you on Bubbles.
Bubbles did very well during yesterday’s surgery. Unfortunately, the surgeon was unable to complete what was actually planned – she could not remove both large masses at once because there was not enough skin to close up.
For now, she did remove the largest tumor as well as one smaller mass on the top right breast, and spayed her. Those masses were sent out for biopsy, but the other large tumor has been left alone for now. If Bubbles heals well, we can revisit removal at a later date.
Additionally, the surgeon noted that there are 4 other smaller masses on the other side and one on her rear-end that we should also address later depending on the biopsy results we receive.
Bubbles is a senior dog, an insulin dependent diabetic with some other health issues so more surgeries may not be an option. But we promise you all that she will live out her best days to the fullest for as long as she is with us.
For now, Bubbles is comfortable in her surgery suit, resting healing and has a good appetite.
We are sitting on pins and needles awaiting the biopsy results, and we really hope the news will not be as bad as originally thought.
Please continue to send positive thoughts and healing prayers Bubbles’ way, we will keep you updated.
