Lola Update

On this wonderful Wednesday, precious Lola is popping in to say hello to all of our wonderful followers and supporters. She’s here to tell you that getting old is most certainly not easy, but she is still beautiful, inside and out, and she most certainly has value!

Lola is currently receiving the ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, healthy diet, senior supplements and the TLC she needed and deserves, and she is beginning to feel fabulous!

We have a very hard time understanding why anyone would have brought a dog like Lola into their lives only to throw her out onto the streets. This tiny old lady is not disposable, she is a living breathing animal with feelings just like you and me.

Why? Did she get too old? After giving over 12  years of love, loyalty and devotion to her humans, Lola still deserves to be loved and treated with dignity, and not tossed away like yesterday’s newspaper.

For Lola, Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. Sanctuary is home. She is now safe, spoiled, and loved – as she should be! And although she suffers from some serious medical issues, she is a very happy girl.

All dogs are beautiful, but senior dogs have a way of touching our hearts in a way that changes everything.

Lola wants you all to know how grateful she is for this second chance at life for it would not be possible without your support. Thank you for giving us the ability to do what we do – these lives matter too!

Brandy Update

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose, we feel inspired by the visually impaired dogs like Brandy who call our Sanctuary home. They teach us to live life to the fullest, despite our challenges. These beautiful souls show courage, strength, confidence, and faith in everything they do.

Brandy has been released from her quarantine, had a nice bubble bath, and is beginning to slowly learn her way around the Sanctuary. She has chosen to stay close to the area where there are other blind residents and they will most definitely be helpful in  guiding her as to where everything is.

As we wash away the physical and emotional scars from Brandy’s body and mind we have no doubt that she sees us, maybe more so, than a sighted dog. She may not see our faces, but she can read our hearts and that makes her even more special to us.

Brandy hopes you all had a terrific Tuesday and enjoyed your Holiday celebrations to the fullest.

In Memory Of Godiva

And Heaven must have been missing an Angel…

Earlier this week, Godiva gained her Angel wings. No matter how hard she fought to live, the neglect that she endured prior to her arrival here was damage that could not be undone. How any human being could have mistreated her and allowed her to suffer then dump her is beyond our comprehension. The word anger does not even begin to describe our feelings about this.

Her will to live was amazing! Godiva was a very sweet girl; always walking around here wagging her tail, giving kisses, cuddling on laps and snuggling with other dogs. She of course had an amazing appetite and especially enjoyed treat time where she would be sure to sample everything we were giving out.

Everyone instantly loved her, humans and dogs alike, and she loved us right back. She would look up at us, directly into our eyes with such a soulful expression of gratitude- we only wish she would have had more time.

The only peace we find is that Godiva did not die alone behind shelter walls  – her life mattered and she deserved to know love, kindness, and dignity before leaving this earth.

It is our hope that her brief time here in Sanctuary was enough to wash away her awful past and leave her only with good memories including learning that not all humans are unkind. It is clear to us that she felt comfortable and safe enough here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary to let go peacefully on her own terms.

You were only with us for a short time sweet Godiva, but you’ll be a part of our hearts forever. We were blessed to have known you and have the opportunity to love you!

Thank you to each and every one of you who fought alongside us to give Godiva a chance at everything this world deprived her of. Our promise to Godiva was to provide her with a safe and loving environment for the rest of her life and we kept that promise.

“True compassion means not only feeling another’s pain but being moved to help relieve it.”

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.
