Blink Of An Eye

The work we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary can at times be very difficult and emotionally daunting; just when you feel like giving up, you see a small moment like this that brings tears to your eyes and a smile to your face. A single moment that makes everything we go through here worth it.

Dogs really know how to live in the moment, they don’t look back and regret the past, they don’t look forward and worry about the future. They appreciate and focus on the here and now – if only us humans could learn to live this way.

For our Sanctuary residents the simple things in life are the greatest things; like cuddling with each other. They are most definitely much better than we are when it comes to making the most out of life. 

Their motto, life goes by in the blink of an eye – enjoy the moments.

Everything Nice

Sugar and Spice, don’t they look nice?! 

Our bonded duo has been released from their quarantine and received a much needed grooming and bath. 

The grooming began with some snarling and snapping, but once in the tub the girls became much more relaxed and actually enjoyed themselves – they are most definitely feeling so much better. 

Thank you to everyone who has already donated toward their care, it is because of YOU that Sugar and Spice have this second chance to live the lives they should have had all along. While we can’t change their past, we can promise these precious girls will NEVER suffer again.

Welcome Sugar And Spice

Used, abused, then tossed away, these tiny girls are broken both physically and mentally – Meet Sugar (left) and Spice (right).

Bonded sisters who lived a very unfair life up until now are safe here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary. Their story touched our hearts so deeply, that we could not say no to helping these frightened little girls. 

Together with one of our rescue partners, Remember Me Rescue NY, we teamed up to save these precious souls from an uncertain fate, and now we need your help to make things better for them. 

On occasion, we house dogs that can be rehabilitated and move onto forever homes, and if that does indeed become the case with these girls down the road, they will be available for adoption through Remember Me Rescue NY. We at Paws Give Me Purpose do not handle adoptions; we strictly provide Sanctuary. 

For now, Sugar and Spice are Sanctuary residents that require full medical care as well as time to learn to trust the humans and world that surrounds them.

Their journey has just begun; and even though they are senior dogs with issues, their lives matter! We will do everything in our power to provide them with everything they need and deserve in order for them to live their lives to the fullest. 

Vet bills are growing and sadly, donations are not — we need your help to give these girls everything they need and deserve!
