Incredibly Sad News

We have very unexpected and incredibly sad news to share today; our tiny little Toffee has left us for the Rainbow Bridge.

She was a fighter, and we fought right alongside her. We got her the best medical care she needed and deserved and hoped and prayed she would make a full recovery to enjoy life. We are incredibly sad it was not meant to be.

Toffee arrived at Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. Sanctuary on Wednesday and was extremely sweet yet feisty – a typical Chihuahua. On Thursday, we took her to the Vet only to find out her medical condition was much worse than the shelter thought. She was immediately rushed to the 24 hour ER.

We are all extremely heartbroken; we were all looking forward to getting to know Toffee and watch her flourish and shine with the other senior pups here in Sanctuary. It is extremely difficult when we only have a short time with them, this type of loss hurt us so deeply.

We can tell you that Toffee passed surrounded by love, surrounded by friends, and not in the shelter.

Toffee – we are so sorry you were abandoned in this condition and we were too late to help you. We hope you know that even though your time with us was short, you were very loved.

Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Witt of House Paws Mobile Vet and to the entire medical team and the staff at NorthStar Vets for loving and caring for our little girl and doing everything medically possible.

As much as it pains us to turn away dogs in need, we are closing Sanctuary intake at this time. We need to focus on paying off the mounting Vet bills so we can continue to care for our current Sanctuary Residents which needs to be our priority.

Thank you all so much for caring and for being a support to us during this time.

Urgent Help Needed

Tossed out like trash, this little 13 year old girl is emaciated and has been clearly mistreated.

Barely able to move, she’s a walking skeleton with swollen front paws and a raging infection.

Now that she is off the streets, out of the shelter and safe with Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. we need your help to help her.

We have named this sweetheart Toffee and she is being immediately admitted to the 24 hour ER hospital right this minute.

Newest Arrivals

People continue to ask us the same question, why put yourselves through the emotional roller coaster of working with abused, neglected, senior, special needs, and unwanted animals? That can only cause you heartache.

Why don’t we just turn a blind eye? It sounds like such a daunting job! So why do we continue to do what we do? Helping a dog and seeing them blossom, enjoying life perhaps for the first time here in Sanctuary is one of the most rewarding parts of canine rescue to us.

Sadly, we are seeing an increase in abandonment of senior and special needs dogs that is simply beyond our comprehension. Tossed out like trash, emaciated and clearly suffering these 3 dogs are now off the streets, out of the shelter and safe with Paws Give Me Purpose Inc.

Asking for money isn’t easy for anyone to do, but we need your help more than ever! Sanctuary is at full capacity and taking care of all of our pups is our top priority. While we hate to continue to ask for money, we know that in order to sustain operations and help these dogs, it’s what we must do.

These 3 little girls are extremely fragile and Paws Give Me Purpose will do everything possible to help them have the best life going forward, which includes the expert medical care they need and deserve.

We will never truly know what they have been through in their lives, but what we do know is, they have a promising future.

Please make a life-saving donation and help us help them today!
