Through love, compassion and caring, Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. creates a safe Sanctuary for dogs where they can take all the time they need to heal mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Oscar arrived at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary back in July. At 18 years old, he was surrendered to a shelter by his family who claimed they loved him; however, this same family put in a request to euthanize him due to being “too old, sick, and not wanting to play anymore”.

Although Oscar suffers from some serious medical issues, he deserves and continues to receive expert medical care which has given him a wonderful second chance to enjoy his golden years to the fullest.

He enjoys our homemade, meals/treats and takes his medications and supplements like a champ. His zest for life is something that is difficult to describe in writing, but he is truly a happy peppy little boy who has stolen the hearts of many!

Oscar is very playful and loves playing with the other senior dogs here in Sanctuary. He is extremely loving, sweet, and really enjoys attention.

Our promise to Oscar and every beautiful soul that walks through our doors is to give them their best lives daily with unconditional love for the rest of their lives.

There is just something ethereal about the beauty of a senior dog. The wisdom in their eyes, the confidence in their glance, and the tender unassuming way they love.

All dogs are beautiful, but senior dogs have a way of touching our hearts in a way that changes everything.

There is nothing in the world like watching a dog blossom here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary and enjoying the life they never had. You can see them finally let go and feel free for perhaps the first time in their lives.

After living many years of criminal neglect and deprivation, 21-year-old Calvin is learning what it is truly like to be loved and that humans can be kind.

He has even learned some new tricks, taking him only a couple minutes to master the ramp. This sure proves that you can teach and old dog new tricks!

We are making sure that Calvin is truly enjoying his golden years to the fullest and is spoiled as he should be.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose Inc.

Imagine being alone and wandering the streets; neglected for a long time, not having much hope left and cowering in fear when touched.

We are appalled at the rate at which pets are abandoned due to irresponsible people. We’ve all heard these heartbreaking stories again and again, what is it going to take for people to realize that dogs are not disposable, they are living beings with feelings just like you and me. 

Meet Minnie! This tiny, 3.6 pound, 13 year old girl was found on the streets of Baltimore. No one knows how long she was out there, and no one ever came looking for her. She was found emaciated, a skeleton with barely any hair, sores all over her body, covered in fleas, nuclear sclerosis of the eyes, has absolutely no teeth and suffers with a heart arrhythmia. 

The shelter reached out to Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. after determining Minnie would do best to live her remaining life in Sanctuary. She is extremely afraid of people and has been so traumatized by someone in her lifetime that she feels she needs to hide when she goes to the potty. (sadly, our guess is she was having accidents at home and was getting yelled at or punished for them)

Minnie is now safe with us and has received emergency Veterinary care. Minnie is receiving the expert medical care she needs and deserves. She eats well, like she hasn’t seen food in a long time, has begun medications and supplements to help her tiny body heal.

A human being just like us did this to Minnie, and we are angry just thinking of her suffering. This is the sad reality of the world we live in; an innocent beautiful little senior dog neglected and then abandoned by those she thought loved her. It is no wonder she is so afraid.

Please pray for Minnie so she can live her life out to the fullest – she deserves this second chance to be happy, loved and cherished. Help us help Minnie heal her broken spirit.
